Panda Test Print
First multicolor print on the H2C — a classic panda figure used to dial in AMS color purging.
Gallery
First multicolor print on the H2C using the classic Bambu Lab panda model. The goal was simple: get a feel for how the AMS handles color purging on a model that demands constant color changes.
Why the Panda?
The panda is the go-to AMS calibration print because nearly every layer requires both black and white filament. There’s no long stretches of a single color to coast on — the purge system has to work constantly. That makes it an honest stress test for color transition quality and waste output.
What I Observed
The print came out clean with sharp color boundaries and no bleed between the black and white regions. The five purge blocks visible in the gallery shot represent the total waste generated — not bad for a model this demanding.
Takeaways
The H2C handled the constant color switching without issue. Purge waste is the real cost of dense multicolor prints, so for future projects I’ll keep an eye on paint bucket color distribution and try to minimize unnecessary transitions where the visual impact is low.
